September 1999, the Group diversified into the manufacturing industry
by acquiring Prima
Packaging Sdn. Bhd. (“Prima Packaging”), a company
involved in the manufacturing of industrial metal containers.
The products that Prima Packaging manufacture range from small metal cans of 100 ml capacity to 25 litre lugged cover and tight head pails. Prima Packaging produces in excess of 8 million pails and cans annually and services customers in the paint, chemical, lacquer, lubricant and more recently, the confectionery and food industries. Further
development saw the group expanding its manufacturing business by
acquiring Corplast
Packaging Industries
Sdn Bhd (“Corplast”) in September 2004. Corplast’s
core business is in the manufacturing of corrugated plastic sheets
for various kinds of packaging as well as other fabricated articles.
Its packaging material is trademarked as Corruboard®. The industries
utilizing this packaging material are such as the electronic, automotive,
agriculture, medical, food and construction industries. |
